Description	:	George Edward Hansen, son of Lewis and Mary Hansen, was born on a farm northeast of Lyons, July 2, 1891 and departed this life, August 28, 1950 at the age of 59 years, 1 month and 26 days. Interment was made in the Lyons Cemetery. He was united in marriage to Miss Nellie McKenzie in Omaha, Nebraska, February 17, 1915. They made their new home on a farm in the Basford community, where they resided for three years. Interment was made in the Lyons Cemetery. He was united in marriage to Miss Nellie McKenzie in Omaha, Nebraska, February 17, 1915. They made their new home on a farm in the Basford community, where they resided for three years. In 1918, they moved to Divide Center, where they lived for 28 years, moving to Lyons, January 1, 1946, where they since resided. When a lad, he was confirmed in the Grace Lutheran Church. After moving to Divide Center, he joined the Divide Center Presbyterian Church. He was a faithful worker and member of this church, serving on the Board of Trustees for many years. After moving to Lyons, he transferred his membership to the First Presbyterian Church. Here he served on the Board of Trustees for the past three years. He was always keenly interested in the up-keep of the church. He was a member of the Win Won Sunday School Class and was a regular attendant. He served on the Divide Center school board for over 25 years. Mr. and Mrs. Hansen were the parents of three sons; one dying in infancy, Harold George, who died at the age of two years and Harry, who resides east of Lyons. Besides his sons, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Henry. He leaves to mourn his untimely passing his wife, Nellie; son, Harry Lewis, Lyons; brothers, John A. Hansen, Decatur, Allie Hansen, Shelton, Washington; two granddaughters, Marinell and Carolie Hansen. ...Obit provided by a family member
