Mr. Rubeck, a parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, died at the Brethren Care Village, Ashland, on Thursday, January 18, 2007. He was born in Newark, Ohio on June 2, 1914 to the late George P. and Clara (Glaub) Rubeck. George was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas where he worked as a machinist for many years. He was also a member and past-president of the Owens 25 Year Club. George is survived by his wife of 39 years, Beatrice (Evans) Gingery Rubeck, of the home; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Mike Wachaya of Pickerington, Kathleen and Don Occhiuzzi of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, and Dorothy Stacey of Detroit, Michigan; his grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer Wachaya, Joe and Chris Occhiuzzi, Kris and Rob Dowlan, and Grace Rubeck; his 5 great-grandchildren; his brother, Norbert Rubeck of Newark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Catherine (Wade) Rubeck; his son, James D. Rubeck; and his 7 brothers. Friends and family may call from 5-7 P.M. Sunday, January 21, at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:30 P.M. The family requests that memorials be made to the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 327 E. Main Street, Newark, or the Brethren Care Village, 200 Center St., Ashland, OH 44805.
