He attended school in Emerson and married Ruth Leone Erickson on May 28, 1938. George farmed until 1951 when he went to work at the Shenandoah DeKalb Plant and in 1953 he started to work for Natural Gas Pipeline of America in Emerson. He retired in 1980 after 27 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Churchj in Emerson and was a 50 year member of both the Emerson Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star. He was also a member of the Emerson Community Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordon Hascall. Survivors include his wife, Leone of Emerson; two daughters, Judy Holton of Bemus Poinr, NY and Janet Sanders and her husband, Dick of Omaha; his grandsons, George and Jack Holton and Eric and Chris Sanders and great grandsons, Matthew, Joshua and Jacob.
