Description	:	Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 31, 1989 for Gordon C. Hascall, 76, of Red Oak. He was born March 27, 1913, in Emerson, IA, to George and Grace Hascall Sr. and raised in Emerson where he graduated from high school. Read More	Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 31, 1989 for Gordon C. Hascall, 76, of Red Oak. He was born March 27, 1913, in Emerson, IA, to George and Grace Hascall Sr. and raised in Emerson where he graduated from high school. He then attended the Red Oak Junior College and the Grand Island Business College in Nebraska. On October 29, 1933, he was married to Carolyn Grace White, who died on Jan. 8, 1969. He married Twyla Yeager on May 20, 1971. A former member of the Emerson School Board and the Emerson Community Club, the longtime Emerson area farmer was very active in the Masonic Lodge. He was Past Master of Humanity Lodge No. 378 AF & AM of Emerson and in 1975 and 1976 he was the Grand Master of the State of Iowa Masonic Lodge. He was also Past Patron of the Emerson Chapter No. 121 Order of Eastern Star and a 32nd Degree Mason. He joined the Lodge in Emerson in March 1942 and served that lodge as senior deacon, junior and senior warden and in 1947 he was in the East. He also served his lodge as secretary and trustee. Grand Lodge committees on which he served included Grand Lodge Recognition, Committee on Lodges Chartered and Under Dispensation, Credentials, The Rowley Home Board, Long Range Planning, and Division and Reference. He wore the purple of Fraternity in 1961-62 as Grand Tyler and in 1967-68 when he served as Senior Grand Warden. In addition he was a member of the York Rite bodies in Red Oak. Hascall was also a member of the Emerson Baptist Church and active in agriculture groups as well. He died October 28, at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital, Red Oak, after an extended illness. Services were held at the Emerson Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brackett officiating. Interment was in the Emerson Cemetery. A family visitation was held Monday evening, Oct. 30, from the Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, who were in charge of arrangements. He was preceded in death by a son John, and two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Twyla of Red Oak; four sons, Edwin of Coin, Kirk of Emerson, Harold of Atlantic and Donald of Essex; three daughters, Mrs. John (Grace) Lewellen of Atlantic, Mrs. Earl (Carol) Ray of O'Fallon, MO, and Georgia Aileen Hascall of Glenwood; four step-children, Norman, Wilbur and Keith Yeager, all of Red Oak, and Mrs. Delaine (Neva) Slump of Henderson; a brother, George Hascall Jr. of Emerson; 29 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
