Funeral services were held July 6 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Jeff Streszoff officiating. Interment was held in Grassy Cove Methodist Cemetery. Mr. Kemmer was born March 14, 1928, in Grassy Cove, the youngest son of James Andrew and Nannie Wilson Kemmer. He was a farmer and a faithful member of the Grassy Cove United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Emily Shofner Kemmer of Grassy Cove; sons, Danny Kemmer and wife Krista, and Jim Kemmer and wife Valarie, all of Grassy Cove; grandsons, Seth Kemmer, Luke Kemmer, Jas Kemmer and kent Kemmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Kemmer, T. J. Kemmer, Dave Kemmer and Bill Kemmer; and sisters, Jane Hale, Mildred Scott, Sue Ann Lansford and Virginia Rowell. Pallbearers were Hank Kemmer, Pit Kemmer, Reggie Rowell, Scott Lansford, Jim Kemmer and John Paul Pennington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Grassy Cove Methodist Cemetery fund c/o Hank Kemmer, 1337 Kemmer Rd., Crossville, TN 38555. Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
