Obituary From "Ottumwa Tri-Weekly Courier," Thursday, January 17, 1907, Page 4: George Frank Andrews. From Wednesday's Daily. George Frank Andrews, born in Augusta county, Va., March 22, 1834, died in Ottumwa, Thursday, Jan. 10, 1907, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 12 days. He was raised in West Virginia, and moved to Illinois when a young man. There he engaged in the blacksmith trade and was married August 5, 1855, to Elizabeth Pearce, at Abingdon, Ill. Four children were born to this union, Ada, deceased, Mrs. Clara Hall and Mrs. Rosa Day of South Ottumwa, and Oscar O. Andrews of South Bend, Wash. Mr. Andrews moved to Ottumwa in 1872 and was employed here for thirty-two years as a switchman. Later he again reverted to his blacksmith work. For the last three years he has been a confirmed invalid, suffering much with patient fortitude He is survived by his wife, three children, brothers in Montana and Chicago and a sister in California. With his death Ottumwa loses an old citizen, and his immediate family a kind and affectionate father.–Contributed.∼Info from WPA website.
