Heal, Sr., 67, a Stockett farmer and lifelong area resident, died Thursday in a Great Falls hospital. Heal was born in Stockett Dec. 1, 1899, and attended school there and in Simms. In 1918 he went to work in Sand Coulee as an engineer for the Nelson Coal Co. Heal, Sr., 67, a Stockett farmer and lifelong area resident, died Thursday in a Great Falls hospital. Heal was born in Stockett Dec. 1, 1899, and attended school there and in Simms. In 1918 he went to work in Sand Coulee as an engineer for the Nelson Coal Co. He married Bernice Hill Oct. 31, 1920, and they farmed a few years in Simms and then came to Great Falls where he was employed as engineer for Chrystal Ice Co. until 1938. He returned to Centerville then to operate the Gerber Coal Co. and later purchased the Anaconda Co. coal holding in Centerville and Tracy and also engaged in farming, residing in Stockett. He was an active member of the Sand Coulee Methodist church and was on the Stockett-Sand Coulee School District board from 1949 through 1956 and from 1959 through 1961. In addition to the widow, survivors are sons and daughters, Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Frantich, Mrs. Joe (Noramay) Dussault, Violet Heal, George F. Jr., Charles, Tom and Bill Heal, all of Stockett, and Mrs. Frank (Isabel) Ragland, Petaluma, Calif.; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Dave (Annie) Crabtree, Kirkland, Wash.; and nieces and nephews.
