Pangburn, of consumption, aged 48 years. Mr. Pangburn was the son of A. G. Pangburn of Anamosa. He was born in New York city Feb. 19th, 1837; came with his parents west to LaMotto, Jackson county, Iowa, in Oct., 1855, and from there to Jones county, In the spring of 1864, and settled near Center Junction. He was married to Esther Krouse, his now bereaved companion, Nov. 11th. 1867. Two children preceded him to the Spirit realm, one some years ago, and the other only last March. Two are left with their widowed mother to mourn his loss. Mr. Pangburn had been In poor health for a long time, and since last winter had gradually failed, though able to be around until a few days before his death. His desease (Consumption of the bowels) slowly but surely brought him down to death. He was a member of the A. 0. U. W. and had an insurance upon his life which will be of benefit to his sorrowing wife and ohildren. In his last days he seemed settled and resigned in his mind and accepted his lot without a murmur. The funeral services were held, in the Methodist church on Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. B. Goodsell; preaching from Numbers 28 and 10. A very large concourse attended the services and followed the remains to North Madison cemetery. The church was heavily draped, and beautiful flowers adorned the casket and altar, which friends and neighbors' kindly placed there as a token of esteem and sympathy. The choir sung appropriate selections, and then we laid him away to rest in hopes of a happy reunion bye and bye.
