She was born In Illinois, and when a child came to Jones county, Iowa, with her parents. She was married November 11, 1867, to George Pangburn, They lived on a farm near Center Junction for a number ot years. Later they moved to Center Junction where she had since made her home Four children were born to them: Estella and John who died in early childhood; Ella, wife of J. B. Hucker, who died twenty-five years ago; and Mrs. Lyman Moats of Center Junction, who has been her comfort these many years, Her husband died July 1. 1885, nearly forty years ago. She united with the Methodist church In girlhood, and was ever loyal, helping In many ways, and ready to do her part. Her Bible was much read as the worn pages bear witness. Her faith In God was strong and secure. She developed the fine qualities of honesty and honor and self-reliance to a high degree. Independance and the ability to look out for herself was one of her outstanding characteristics Wherever help was needed she was always there. No sacrifice was to great, no task too hard to do for those nearest and dearest to her. She was a great lover of flowers and made them real companions, sharing them generously with her friends. Her spirit was that of thrift, and her good name was to be preferred above all other things. Those left to mourn her are one daughter, Mrs Lymnn Moats: the following grandchildren: Kenneth, Inver and Esther Moats, and George and Milo Hucker; one sister, Mrs. William Reade of Onslow, and many nephews and nieces. Mrs. Pangburn lived the plain life of the early pioneer. She went down the long trail practically alone, having lost her husband 10 years ago. Idleness and leisure were unknown to her, as she worked till the last hour of her life. The end of her long journey came quietly and peacefully and in a beautiful way. As she sat at her evening meal without thought of death she was gone. God had taken her. Her work was ended and her rest began "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord from hence forth * * * that they may rest from their labors." The funeral services were held In the Methodist Episcopal church Friday. May 29, with Rev, F. H. Schepple in charge. The florial tributes were many and beautiful. The two sons-in-law and four grandsons acted as pall bearers. Interment was had at South Madison.
