Description	:	George Nott OTTUMWA - George H. Nott, 83, of 218 Lynwood Ave., died at 2:25 p.m. Oct. 6, 2004, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born April 18, 1921 to Aaron B. and Bertha A. Glassburner Nott in Fairfield. He married Dorothy Thompson Oct. 9, 1971. She preceded him in death Oct. 23, 1990. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He worked for 26 years at John Morrell & Co., and had also worked at Rosenman Scrap Metal and Seton Catholic School. He was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation, O.B.... Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include grandson, Christian J. Harper of Oskaloosa and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Arthur Nott; sister, Edith Palmer; and great-nephew, Dustin (Sheppard) Harper who was raised in the home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Father Bernie Weir officiating. Burial with military services by O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation will begin 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. Memorials may be made to Seton Catholic School. The Ottumwa Courier October 8, 2004 issue
