Description	:	George H. Williams was born near Tipton, Iowa, March 21, 1867, the son of Elias and Jane Sleater Williams. He was one of eight children, 3 boys and four girls. He received his early education in Cedar County and later farmed west of Tipton. He was united to Siddie May Murray at Tipton, Iowa, on March 8, 1899. Two children were born to this marriage: Murray E. who preceded his father in death and Elizabeth. George Williams moved from his farm to Tipton in 1933 and has resided there until his death.... Read More	George H. Williams was born near Tipton, Iowa, March 21, 1867, the son of Elias and Jane Sleater Williams. He was one of eight children, 3 boys and four girls. He received his early education in Cedar County and later farmed west of Tipton. He was united to Siddie May Murray at Tipton, Iowa, on March 8, 1899. Two children were born to this marriage: Murray E. who preceded his father in death and Elizabeth. George Williams moved from his farm to Tipton in 1933 and has resided there until his death. He was confined to his bed the last few weeks. He died at his home May 1, 1946, at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his wife, Siddie; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Werling; one brother, Ed Williams of Tipton; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Son, Murray; four Sisters and two Brothers. Funeral services were held at the McCormick Funeral home, May 3, 1946.
