Pilcher, 48, of 1011 West Sherman street, died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines at 10:45 p.m. Thursday. Pilcher, 48, of 1011 West Sherman street, died at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines at 10:45 p.m. Thursday. He was the son of Henry and Julia Pilcher and was born in Wapello county, May 14, 1898 where he lived all of his life. A veteran of World war I, he served in Co. G, 168th infantry, 48th division. He is a member of O. B. Nelson Post No. 3, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and the Rainbow division. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two sons, George Pilcher Jr, and Warren Leo; four daughters, Mrs. Rex R. Grimes, Ottumwa; Mrs. James E. Brown, Ottumwa; Julia Ann Pilcher and Betty Pilcher, at home; his mother, Mrs. Julia Penrod, Ottumwa and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Long, Ottumwa. Pilcher, 1011 West Sherman street., who died Thursday at the Veteran's hospital at Des Moines, will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by Capt. J. E. LaLone of the Salvation Army. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the residence at 10 a.m. Sunday and will be returned to the chapel Monday morning. Military services will be held at the grave. Men who served with him in World War I will act as pallbearers.
