Miskimins, son of Philip and Martha Miskimins, was born May 20, 1860, in Washington township, Wayne county, Iowa, near Cambria, where he lived his entire life except the last few years which were spent on a farm near Chariton where he passed away on May 25, 1932, after a few days illness, at the age of 72 years and 5 days. He was united in marriage to Ellen E. Harris on October 28, 1880, who passed away September 9, 1920. To this union were born five children, Mrs. Frank Parks, who passed away September 23, 1925; Mrs. Warren Ryan, Derby, Iowa; Harry Miskimins, Cambria, Iowa; Mrs. John Schreck, Chariton, Iowa; Frank Miskimins, Seymour, Iowa, all of whom were with him at the time of his death. He was a kind and loving father, a good neighbor and a friend to all. In the year of 1925 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Effie Fisk. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, four children, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. H. A. Burd, Los Angeles, California, and an aunt, Mrs. Ella Sutton, Cambria, Iowa. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. E. L. Stone, of Chariton, were held at the M. E. church in Cambria on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock, followed by interment in the cemetery at that place.
