The circumstances connected with and surrounding his death are indeed sad. Scarcely half a year had elapsed since his marriage. ******************************** Americus Ledger, Friday, October 14, 1887; p.1,c.7 Obituary. G. Henry Bigelow, our late townsman, died on Friday, Oct. 8th, at his home in Emporia, of Typhoid fever, after an illness of several weeks. His remains were brought to the M. E. Church in this city, where Rev. A. L. Scott preached a few words of encouragement and consolation to the aged parents, the bereaved wife and young companions of the deceased, after which his remains were deposited in the Americus cemetery.
