The friends and relatives in the Britt Community were shocked Friday afternoon when word passed from one to another telling of the sudden death of George H. Boutilier, popular farmer in the Eagle Lake vicinity about 1:30 that afternoon. Mr. Boutilier suffered a heart attack about ten days ago but was thought to have been improving and had been out in the yard soon after lunch hour on Friday afternoon. Later he retired to his room and was lying down reading the paper when his folks went to see him. A few minutes later when they looked into the room Mr. Boutilier had succumbed. Georg Henry Boutilier was born a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Boutilier on a farm near Eagle lake on April 19, 1890. Here he grew to manhood. On April 26, 1920 he was united in marriage to Helen Ruth Charbonneaux at Mount Pleasant. Following his marriage he returned to Hancock county where he engaged in farming. He resided here with exception of one year he spent in the state of Illinois. The past fourteen years e farmed on the S.E. 1/4 of section 12, north of Eagle Lake, where he succumbed. Mr. Boutilier leaves to mourn his death, wife, and daughter Perle, student in the Britt Junior College, as well as aged mother, Mrs. C. W. Boutilier, Sr. of Britt; two brothers, William, of Forest City and Charles, of Britt; and four sisters, Mrs. Thos A. Manuel, Mona, Minn.; Mrs. Howard Cummings, Mason City; Mrs. James Lunn, Hannaford, N. Dak., and Mrs. Floyd Charbonneaux, of Britt. There are also a number of nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends. The death of Mr. Boutilier marks the passing of three members of the Boutilier family during the past twelve months. In June, C. W. Boutilier, Sr. died, and in February, 1941 his sister, Ida, succumbed. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon with a short service at the home and later at the Methodist church with Rev. B. A. Rust officiating. Internment was made in Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.
