Read More	Published in the Arcadia Champion, Arcadia, Nebraska, Thursday, June 3, 1926, Page 1, Column 2 GEORGE HENRY WELSH George Henry Welsh, son of John and Lovina Welsh, was born in Philadelphia, Jefferson county, New York May 3rd, 1870. Departed this life May 24th, 1926, aged 56 years and 21 days. In the spring of 1880 he came with his parents from New York to Westerville, Nebraska where he grew to manhood. He received his education in public schools here. With the exception of two years spent in Oklahoma, he has resided continually in Westerville. On February 15th 1903 he was united in marriage with Marion R. Clark of Westerville and to this union two boys were born, Maynard Clark, attending Wesleyan university and Lowell Alvin at home. For approximately fifteen years he was the proprietor of the store at Westerville. He was a member of the Westerville Township Board and was on the Board of Education of the Rural high school district of Westerville. He was united with the Methodist Church at Westerville, in 1890. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, a past Noble Grand of the IOOF lodge of Westerville and a past Master of Gladstone Lodge No. 176 A.F. And A.M. of Ansley in which lodge he received a certificate of proficiency. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, being a member of Nebraska Consistency of the Valley of Omaha. He was also a member of the Tangier Temple of Shriners of Omaha. Two years ago failing health forced him to give up active life. Although doctors and hospitals were tried it was soon evident that his days were numbered and on Monday morning he passed peacefully into the Great Beyond. Through his passing his family has lost a devoted husband and father and the community a good neighbor and citizen. He leaves to mourn his loss a faithful wife, two sons, one sister, Mrs. Fred Crawford of Ansley; one brother, Justin E. of Sargent; besides other relatives and a host of grieving friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25th at 3 pm from the home, the local pastor, Rev. Otto A. Quaife in charge. Burial was made in the Westerville cemetery with Gladstone Lodge of Ansley in charge.
