Mr. Escherhausen was born Jun3 12, 1890 at Huge, Germany, the son of George and Paterka Escherhausen. He lived in Germany until age 16, when he came to a farm in Logan Township, Hand County with his parents. He married Helen Jacobs March 1, 1922 in Miller. Escherhausen Rites Held September 25 George J. Escherhausen, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Hand County Memorial Hospital. Mr. Escherhausen was born Jun3 12, 1890 at Huge, Germany, the son of George and Paterka Escherhausen. He lived in Germany until age 16, when he came to a farm in Logan Township, Hand County with his parents. He married Helen Jacobs March 1, 1922 in Miller. They farmed in Howell and Logan Township, Hand County until they retired in the early 1960's when they moved to Miller. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. He is survived by one son, Leo, Phoenix, AZ; one daughter, Mrs. Otis (Lucille) Pierson, Miller; one grandson, Ronald Pierson, Miller; one brother, Julius Escherhausen, Clarksville, IA and three sisters. Mrs. Pata Gerjerts, Mrs. Elizabeth Rademaker, both of Clarksville and Fannie Escherhausen, Danford, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, and one brother. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 25 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Fred Rosin and the Rev. Kenneth Engstrom officiating. Burial was in the GAR Cemetery. Pallbearers were Morris Droppers, Clifford Petersen, Roy Nicholas, John Engelmann, Edwin Eisenbraum and Paul Engelmann.
