In the death of Mr. George James FEE, in this city on Saturday last, Jefferson County lost an old citizen, and one who was well-known and respected throughout the entire community. He was the son of Col. FEE, a soldier of the revolution, and was born in Huntingdon County, Penn.. He was a soldier in the War of 1812, and came to Fairfield in 1855, where he has resided ever since, his wife dying here some years ago. He was the father of eleven children -- nine of whom are still living, several residing in this county.... At the time of his death he was just past his 85th year. The funeral took place on Sunday, and was largely attended. (Transcriber's (Joey Stark, in June 2006) note: The obituary shows his middle name as James, but his tombstone in the Old Fairfield City Cemetery reads George Jackson FEE. Buried next to his wife Mary who died Aug. 28, 1860, aged 65 years.) -------- Children (some proven, some estimated.
