Description	:	George Jedele was born July 25, 1869 in Schillersdorf, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. He married Louise Schneider on May 13, 1890. To this union one son was born [Karl Charles]. Mrs. Louise Jedele died shortly after the birth of her son. He was married to Salome Koening July 21, 1896. They came to America in 1907, living on a farm south of Denison. Later they farmed near Manilla and finally moved to their present home west of Denison. Mrs. Salome Jedele died in 1949. Mr. Jedele suffered from a heart ailment about four weeks ago and died at his home on Wednesday, August 8, 1951. Survivors are one son George III of Oakdale, California, and 2 daughters: Margaret Jedele Holdsworth of Manilla and Sallie Jedele Ahrenholtz of Denison; 20 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; 1 brother Jacob Jedele and 1 sister Catherine Jedele Bernhardt of Alsace-Lorraine, Germany. Five children preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday afternoon, August 11th, with the Rev. Carl Schmidt officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery. Pallbearers were six grandsons: Marvin and Gordon Jedele, Harold and Robert Holdsworth, and Wesley and Leonard Ahrenholtz. Those attending were: Mr and Mrs George Ruch and Walter Ruch of Vail; Mr and Mrs Ed Jochimsen, Mr and Mrs Harold Holdsworth, Mr and Mrs Bryan Cooper, Mrs Helen Madson, Mr and Mrs Ed Holdsworth, Mr and Mrs Ray Holdsworth and John Jurgenson all of Manilla; Mr and Mrs Russell Nelson of Irwin; Mr and Mrs Bill Ahrenholtz, Lydia Ahrenholtz, Tillie Ahrenholtz, all of Defiance. Others present were from Audubon, Cleveland, Ohio, Chicago, Griswold, Denver, Ames, Muscatine and Oakdale, California.
