He died Feb. 8 at the age of 84 years at Brookhaven Nursing home, Brooklyn. He was the son of George Keller and Margaretha Troemmel. He was baptized into the Christian faith on April 19, 1891 at St. John's Lutheran church, Lincoln township by rev. Graffelman and was confirmed April 16, 1905 by Rev Otto Kitzmann. Read More	Source: The Victor Record 2/11/1976 George Keller Died Feb. 8 At Brookhaven George Keller was born March 17, 1891 in Lincoln township, Iowa county. He died Feb. 8 at the age of 84 years at Brookhaven Nursing home, Brooklyn. He was the son of George Keller and Margaretha Troemmel. He was baptized into the Christian faith on April 19, 1891 at St. John's Lutheran church, Lincoln township by rev. Graffelman and was confirmed April 16, 1905 by Rev Otto Kitzmann. His confirmation verse was Ps. 32:8 "I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go; I will guide thee with mine eye." He served in the United States Army from 1918-1919 in France. On Dec. 21, 1921 he was united in marriage to Clara Burke in St. John's Lutheran church by Rev. H. W. Schrieber. In 1921 they started farming at What Cheer and were members of St. Martin's Lutheran church, What Cheer, until 1926 when they moved to a farm north of Victor and transferred their membership to St. James Lutheran church where he was a member until his death. He retired at Victor in 1955. In 1971 they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Edgar, one brother, John, and one sister, Mary. He is survived by his wife, Clara, one son, Ralph of Victor; two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Edmund) Hinrichs of Fairmont, MN., and Elsie (Mrs. Robert) Schroder of Bettendorf; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Ralph Keller, Victor; and Mrs. Audrey keller of Albert City; two sons-in-law, Edmund Hinrichs, Fairmont, MN., and Rev. Robert Schroeder of Bettendorf; two brothers, Alex of Victor and Henry of Marengo; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Schultz of Victor and Mrs. Carrie Burke of Guernsey; 12 grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. The funeral service in memory of George Keller was held Feb. 10 at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran church, Victor, with Rev. Lenser officiating. The congregation joined in singing, "My Hope is Built on Nothing Less" and "When Sinners See Their Lost Condition". Organist was Mrs. Margaret Lyman. Pall bearers were Roland Burke, Harlan Burke, Kenneth Schultz, Bill Jahlas, Everett Fruendt, and Otto Fruendt. Interment was in the Victor IOOF cemetery.
