Eric Allyn officiating. Mrs. Keller died Friday, Jan. 15, 1982, at Rose Haven nursing home Marengo, where she had resided since July 1977. At the services organist Denise Remke accompanied congregational singing of "When Sinners See Their Lost Condition," "My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less," "The Will of God Is Best" and "For All the Saints Who from Their Labors Rest." Caring for flowers were Mrs. Francis Purvis, Deep River, and Mrs. Henry Meyer, Victor. Casket bearers were LaVerne Jahlas, Kenneth Schultz, both of Victor, Walter Fruendt, Cedar Rapids; Harland and Roland Burke and Arnold Fruendt, all of Guernsey. Interment was in the International Order of Odd Fellows cemetery, Victor. Clara Emilie Burke was born Feb. 5, 1897, in Poweshiek county, the daughter of Franz and Anna Schlesselman Burke. She was baptized March 28, 1897, at St. John's Lutheran church, Lincoln township, and confirmed at St. John's March 29, 1910, by the Rev. Otto Kitzmann. She attended St. John's parochial school. She and J. George Keller were married Dec. 21, 1921, at St. John's by the Rev. H. W. Schreiber. The Kellers began farming at What Cheer and were members of St. Martin's Lutheran church. In 1926 they moved to a farm north of Victor where they lived until 1955 when they retired and moved to Victor. Mrs. Keller was a member of the St. James Lutheran church for the last 55 years and active in the Ladies aid. She served as church organist for many years. She is survived by one son, Ralph, Victor; two daughters, Dorothy (Mrs. Edmund) Hinrichs, Mayer, MN., and Elsie (Mrs. Robert) Schroder, Bettendorf; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband in 1976, son Edgar in 1975; three sisters, Emma, Minnie and Maria; and two brothers, Louis and William.
