Stevenson, 70, were held at The Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2pm with the Rev. E. C. Allen officiating. Mr. Stevenson passed away Thursday evening at the Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City after a short illness. The Masonic lodge was in charge of the services. Pallbearer were Charles Ligget, C. A. Hoon, Lew Warye, E. L. Schoenfeld, Robert Bigelow and V. V. Prudhon. Mrs. C. A. Hoon and Mrs. Duane, Tracy sang, accompanied by Mrs. E. L. Estal. Burial was in Oakhill Cemetery. George L.... Stevenson George Lawrence Stevenson, the son of David A. and Hattie J. Stevenson, was born at Janesville, Iowa, April 9, 1880, and passed away at Charles City, Iowa, March 1, 1951. He was married to Leda Zabel, June 7, 1911 at Waverly, Ia. George worked all his life at the butcher trade. The family moved to Nashua in the fall of 1920, where his wife preceded him in Death, July 2, 1948. His step-daughter, Helen, also passed away in 1929. Mr. Stevenson was a member of the Nashua Methodist church, and the Masonic lodge, in which he proved to be a real brother and held many important positions. he was well known in Masonic circles outside his own lodge, and was highly respected in the community. He is survived by one brother, Charles of Northwood; three sister, Mrs. Maude Goodsell of Janesville, Iowa, and Miss Mary Stevenson and Mrs. John Moralee, both of Allison, Iowa; his wife's niece who was taken into their home and reared as one of their own, Mrs. Paul Wagner (Mary Zabel), and her three children of Waterloo, Iowa, other relatives and a host of friends.
