Parce on March 19, 1883, in Tipton, Iowa. Obituary From "Ottumwa Tri-Weekly Courier," May 11, 1917: G.M. DILTZ. George M. Diltz was born in Woodberry, Pa., Jan. 1, 1846. His parents moved to Cedar county, Iowa, when he was ten years of age and there he lived practically all his life until he moved to Ottumwa about nine years ago. In 1884, he was married to Lucy A. Parse. To this union were born two children, Clarence William of Des Moines and Raymond G. of this city. His parents were of the Methodist faith and when a boy he united with that church. He lived his religion in his home, although for several years he had no church connection. Besides his immediate family he leaves two sisters and one brother and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Mr. Diltz died May 6, 1917, age 71 years, 4 months and 5 days. He was a patient sufferer for four months and five days. He never complained or murmured at his condition, and passed away without a struggle. Funeral services were conducted from the home of Raymond Diltz on South Ward street by Rev. W.E. Prewitt of the South Side Baptist church. Interment followed in Shaul cemetery.–Contributed.
