Nov 17, 1938 - Carroll Daily Herald - George Frank, 74, a resident of Carroll county for the last forty eight years, died at 11 o'clock Wednesday night at the St. Anthony Hospital after a lingering illness. Last January Mr. Frank submitted to an operation which brought him temporary relief. He had been confined to bed for the past two months and cared for at the hospital for the last ten days. The body was taken this afternoon from the Gregory Funeral home to the family home at 518 North Maple Street, where it will rest until the time of the funeral services. Rites will be conducted at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at SS. Peter and Paul's Church and burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Frank was born in Bavaria, Germany, April 18, 1864, a son of Michael and Katherine Frank. When he was nineteen years old he made the trip to the United States alone, coming directly to Carroll county. After assisting with farming operations he engaged in farming for himself. He was married Jan. 20, 1890, to Miss Catherine Neu. Mr. and Mrs. Frank farmed east of Carroll for many years before moving to Dedham, from which town they came to Carroll fourteen years ago. Mr. Frank was a member of SS. Peter and Paul's Church. He is survived by his wife and nine children: Mrs. Frank Hacker (Lena), Willey; George Frank, Coon Rapids; Joseph Frank, Carroll; Albert, Conrad and William Frank, Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Henry Auen, John Frank and Mrs. George Conley (Mary), Carroll. All of the children will be here at the services. Mr. Frank also leaves three sisters. Mrs. Albert Stangl of Chicago and Sister M. Ismael and Sistur M. Emanuel, both of whom are at St. Joseph's Convent, Milwaukee, Wis. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Fred Meyers (Katherine).
