George grew up in Pittsfield, NH, graduated in the Pittsfield High School Class of 1948 and attended George Washington University. He lived in Washington DC, Montpelier, VT, Cheshire and Farmington, CT, Plano TX, San Francisco, CA, South Bend, Mishawaka and Wakarusa, IN, Auburn, Hyannis and Pittsfield, MA, Barnstead, NH and Beverly Hills, FL. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and sitting down at night with a Manhattan cocktail. In retirement he would make wood crafts. His wife would paint them and they would travel around New England selling them at craft shows. They enjoyed vacations at their four weeks of time share resorts from Hawaii to the Caribbean. George and Laurie spent their summers in Barnstead, NH. They spent their winters in Beverly Hills, Florida and would frequently cruise out of local ports. George suffered from heart disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, bypass surgery), skin cancer and pulmonary fibrosis. He spent the last few years of his life on supplemental oxygen. He died from complications of pulmonary fibrosis after catching pneumonia on a Caribbean cruise.
