He was one of Highland County's most enterprising and progressive farmers. He had been ill for some time with cancer. He leaves a wife and three children, Mrs. Dr. W. A. Holmes of this place and a son and daughter who reside at home. He was a brother of O. N. Sams and C. D. Sams of this place.
