N. Sams, 66, Claimed; Rites Set for Monday Norval Newton (Nick) Sams, 66, widely known businessman of Hillsboro, died at Highland District Hospital Thursday at 12:05 A.M. He had just been admitted to the hospital about a half hour earlier. He resided at 331 South High Street. He had operated the N. N. Sams & Son Implement Company on Court and Short Streets here for 22 years. It was started about 1935, and was sold in 1957. His son, Don, who preceded him in death, was associated with him in the business. Earlier he had been in a similar business in Urbana with a brother-in-law, Eugene Cameron. He was born on a farm near Rainsboro September 6, 1897, the son of George and Josephine Chapman Sams. He was a member of the Elks and Masonic Lodges, Hillsboro. He is survived by his wife, Bernice Madge Cameron Sams; two daughters, Mrs. N. J. Towle, Urbana, and Mrs. E. H. Wilson, Jr., San Francisco, California; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 P.M. at the Hope Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Montgomery officiating and burial following in Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 P.M. Sunday.
