Description	:	George Odell Johnson, 89 of 1116 South Prairie, Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Monday, June 27, 2005 at his home following a lengthy illness. George was born on January 22, 1916 in Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Gisle and Marie (Bjornson) Johnson. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garretson by Rev. A. Larsgaard and was confirmed at Dell Rapids Lutheran Church by Rev. Bringle. He attended school in the Dell Rapids area. George was born on January 22, 1916 in Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Gisle and Marie (Bjornson) Johnson. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garretson by Rev. A. Larsgaard and was confirmed at Dell Rapids Lutheran Church by Rev. Bringle. He attended school in the Dell Rapids area. Following school he farmed with his father until 1948 when they moved to Sioux Falls. He was employed at Johnson Hardware and Jordan Millwork. He then became owner of Schaefer Window Company until his retirement. He was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church and then became a member of Messiah New Hope Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Iva Larson on January 17, 1965. Survivors include his wife, Iva and step-daughter Melanie of Sioux Falls, brother Rev. Ernest Johnson of Centralia, WA and his sister, Gladys Holliday of Sioux Falls, a step grandson, Wendlyn Grooms of Fridley, MN; two step great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lester and Later and one sister Bernice Kipper. Funeral services at Heritage Funeral Home with burial in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, rural Garretson.
