He was a 32nd degree Mason of Anah Temple, Bangor. He was born November 8, 1898, at Upper Haynesville, N. B., son of Hanford and Hannah Knox. He graduated from Houlton High School, Ricker College, and Bryant and Stratton Business and Accounting School in Boston, Mass. On July 14, 1939, he married Anne L. Roberts, who survives him. Mr. Knox had lived here for many years. He was a member of St. Adelmar's Commandery of Houlton and of the Caribou Lodge of Masons. He belonged to Garfield Chapter here, to Eastern Star Lodge of Perfection, Palestine Council, Princesses of Jerusalem. He was a member of Bangor Chapter of the Rose Croix and of the Maine Consistory, SPRS. He was a member of the Caribou Lions Club. Mr. Knox was the director of Colby Cooperative Starch Co., and was a director of the Aroostook Trust Co. Survivors, besides his widow, are a brother, Hayden, of Presque Isle, and a sister, Mrs. Nora G. Smith, Brooklyn, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, the Rev. Franklin MacKerron, pastor of the United Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle. Masonic services will be conducted....
