George was born in Danville, IL on May 27, 1958. He was the son of Marion Lewis Van Pelt and Virginia Ann (White) Dunbar. Read More	George Robert Van Pelt, age 59, of Pence, IN, died at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his residence after a brief battle with cancer. George was born in Danville, IL on May 27, 1958. He was the son of Marion Lewis Van Pelt and Virginia Ann (White) Dunbar. He attended Lafayette schools where he had resided most of his life until moving to Pence five years ago. He married Theresa Loy and they later divorced. He then married Linda Glaze and she preceded him in death. George worked as a union roofer for Local #233. He also was a mechanic and an all around handyman. He attended Harvest Chapel in Williamsport, IN. He loved horses. He liked to tinker, especially with cars, and liked to watch westerns. George enjoyed all the children in the Van Pelt family. Surviving are his mother; soulmate, Elizabeth A. Dillman and her daughter, Rebecca Dillman; six siblings; two sister-in-laws; 18 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. George was preceded in death by his father; brother, Randy Dean Van Pelt; and son, George Robert Van Pelt Jr.
