Vetsch, 88, of Fillmore was held March 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond. Burial will be in the spring in the St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Fillmore. The Nelson Funeral Home of Esmond was in charge of arrangements. George Rochus Vetsch was born March 24, 1912 to Peter & Catherine Goldade Vetsch near Balta. He was raised & educated there. In April of 1932 he married Agnes Goetz at Fulda. The couple lived & farmed near Fillmore. He was a bus driver at Rugby Public School for 26 years & worked at Johnny's Service Station In Rugby. She died in 1975. He continued to live on the farm until entering St. Aloisius Medical Center at Harvey in 1999. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Esmond & a former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Fillmore. He also assisted in the construction of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Survivors include 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Ann & Ed Hagel of Washburn & Jeanette & Henry Bray of Mahnomen, Minn.; 6 sons & 4 daughters-in-law, Fred & Gloria Vetsch of Esmond, Daniel Vetsch of Bath, S.D.,John & Lois Vetsch of Coleharbor, Henry Vetsch of Brookings, S.D., Kenneth & Rose Vetsch of Fillmore & Richard & Joanne Vetsch of Rugby; 34 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; & a brother, Steve Vetsch of Redmond, Ore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Margaret Vetsch; his wife; 4 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 9 brothers, Balthazer, John, Simon, Peter, Anton, Joseph, Frank & infants, George & Wendel; 4 sisters, Clara Sand, Carolina Hornstein, Marianne Torko & Mary Eva Vetsch; a stepbrother, Peter Becker; & 4 stepsisters, Mary Rosseck, Alesander Salway, Helen Schmidt & Rose Salway.
