Read More	Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre 325 Demaree Drive Madison, IN 47250 Mr. George Terry Wood, age 75, of Madison, Indiana entered this life on August 8, 1946 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He grew up near Mount Sterling in Switzerland County, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late George Albert and Elsie Elizabeth Krall Wood. Terry was a member of the last second grade class to attend the Mt. Sterling two room school house and he started third grade at the new Jefferson Craig Elementary school in Vevay, Indiana. Terry graduated in 1964 from Vevay High School. On July 11, 1970 Terry was united in marriage to Wanda Ann Cole at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church near Pleasant, Indiana. His working career began at the U.S. Shoe Corporation in Vevay in 1967. He then began a 30 year career with his transfer to the U.S. Shoe in Madison, Indiana. He also worked part time at the Lytle Funeral Chapel in Madison and then some for the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. At the closing of U.S Shoe, he went to work for Robus Leather Products and then moved to U.S. Filter and at the closing of that plant, he began working at Lowe's in Madison until he retired. He was raised and a member early in life at the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church and after moving to Madison, he and Wanda became active members of the Calvary Baptist Church. He served in many roles of service there and was ordained a deacon on July 10, 1977. He also belonged to the Switzerland Lodge No. 122 F. & A.M. and the Bennington Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 407. Terry went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 5:50 p.m. at Thornton Terrace Health Campus after a battle with Covid 19. A LOVING FAMILY George will be missed by his his caregiver and longtime friend, Roye Ann Chism of Madison, Indiana; several cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, George Albert Wood, died November 27, 1988, his mother, Elsie Elizabeth Krall Wood, died January 15, 1982, his beloved wife of 44 years, Wanda Ann Cole Wood, died June 15, 2014; his father in law and mother in law, Raymond Alvin Cole, died April 28, 1977 and Tressah Claretta Brown Cole, died May 17, 1992. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 7, 2022, at 12:00 Noon, by Pastor Rick Fory at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may visit Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church -Benevolence Fund. Cards are available at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centres of Madison and Hanover.
