Read More	Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana 47250 Mrs. Wanda Ann Cole Wood, age 68, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on May 13, 1946 at her family home near Moorefield, Indiana on Big Doe Run. She was the loving daughter of the late, Raymond Alvin and Tressah Claretta Brown Cole. Wanda was a member of the last first grade class to complete a years at the Long Run (two room school house), starting the second grade at the new Jeff-Craig Elementary School in Vevay. She graduated in 1965 from Vevay High School. Wanda was united in marriage to George Terry Wood on July 11, 1970 at the Brushy Fork Baptist Church near Pleasant, Indiana. Wanda began her working career at Conn Organ after graduation. Then in 1967 she began a 30 year career with Joyce Shoe/Nine West in Madison. She worked part time as a Longaberger Independent Consultant for a few years. At the closing of the shoe factory, she was excited to join the staff at the Hanover College Child Development. In 2000 she joined the staff at the new O.V.O. Child Development Center. She enjoyed the children greatly, but because of health issues transferred to the O.V.O. Office. She retired in February 2014 from O.V.O. Head Start as the Administrative Assistant/Data Entry. She was a very active member of the Long Run Baptist Church teaching children and playing the piano. After marriage and moving to the Madison community, she and Terry united with the Calvary Baptist Church. She served in many roles of service at the church, including working in the nursery for seventeen years. Wanda belonged to the Bennington Chapter No. 407 Order of Eastern Star serving as past Worthy Matron in 1969. Wanda enjoyed crocheting, needle point, playing the piano, being outside, gardening and sending cards. Wanda died on Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 6:27 a.m. at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Wanda will be missed by her loving husband of forty four years, George Terry Wood of Madison, Indiana; her aunt, Betty Brown of Madison, Indiana; her cousins, Sue Alexander, Ronnie Brown, Dean Brown and Gail Smiley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Alvin and Tressah Claretta Brown Cole. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 20, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Mike Hamby at the Calvary Baptist Church, 2632 Michigan Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery, 800 East Main Street in Vevay, Indiana Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Calvary Baptist Church, 2632 Michigan Road in Madison, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Benevolence Fund or Gideon's Memorial Bible Plan.
