Read More	Arlington News 06 Aug 1953 Obituary of George Thomson George Thomson, son of George Thomson and Jane Breen Thomson, was born at Craigton, Scotland, Nov. 18, 1886. At the age of 3 years he was left motherless and reared by his grandmother Thomson. He received his education in the Carluke public school. On Nov. 18, 1910, he was united in marriage to Susan Muncie, who preceded him in death as did their daughter, Barbara and a son, who died in infancy. It was in the summer of 1913, that they came to America and settled on a farm near Wadena, where he lived for 17 years. In 1930, he bought a farm near Arlington and lived there until 1952, when he moved to another farm north of Volga, where he resided the rest of his life. \| In 1937 he was united in marriage to Ruth Scott, who with a step-daughter (Mrs. Jane Ann Kruempel), a step-son (Kenneth), a cousin in New York, and a number of relatives in Scotland, plus a host of friends mourn his passing. He was a member of the United Free Church of Scotland, and later of the Presbyterian church in Wadena, and then Volga. In 1934, he was elected an Elder of the Presbyterian church and has been active as such either in the church at Wadena or Volga, since that time. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Wadena, Sunday, Aug.. 2, with the Rev. Henry D. Jones in charge. Burial was at the Wadena cemetery.
