Boardman entered upon earthly sleep at 8:20 o'clock Wednesday morning. His faith was strong, his desire to depart keen, and his awakening will be into the enjoyment of a reward of which his soul was beginning to enjoy while yet with us. Boardman entered upon earthly sleep at 8:20 o'clock Wednesday morning. His faith was strong, his desire to depart keen, and his awakening will be into the enjoyment of a reward of which his soul was beginning to enjoy while yet with us. Mr. Boardman was born at Warsaw, N. Y., January 21, 1842. In March 1864 he was wedded at Blackberry Grove, Ill., to Miss Dodd, who survives him. Of the nine children born into the home, six are yet living - Lewis, Charlie, Peter, John, Jessie and Arthur. Mr. Boardman is a veteran of the civil war, being a member of co. I, 42nd Regt. Ill. Vol. Inf., and at the time of his death was member of Live Eagle commandery No. 147. Services will be conducted from the Evangelical church at 2:30 this afternoon, Rev. Houseman having charge of the service, and will be assisted by others. Mr. Boardman has been a member of the Free-Will and Missionary Baptists, and was a member in good standing of the latter at his decease. Loving services have been tendered the sick by many considerate neighbors and friends, members of the Evangelical congregation showing particular loyalty of ministry. To these and other friends, among whom are comrades of the G.A.R., the family wish herewith to express appreciative thanks. The officiating clergyman.
