NEALEY CALLED BY DEATH Died At Home In Salisbury On Last Thursday Night RESIDED IN THIS CITY MANY YEARS This community was greatly shocked on Friday last when it was learned that Mr. George W. Nealey, a former resident of this city had succumbed at his home in Salisbury, Thursday night after a lingering illness. The cause of his death was due to a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for more than a year, and despite this handicap he would not admit he was unfit, but wore that cheerful smile and assumed that attitude which was characteristic of his congenial nature. He was 67 years of age. Mr. Nealy, in his youth became associated with the Adams Express Company operating in this territory, as express messenger and gradually rose by promotion to the office of route agent which position he held until the world war, when the United States Government took over the transportation companies throughout the nation, and at this time he was made Superintendent of Transportation over the eastern lines. Shortly after the war was over he became associated with the South Eastern Express Company and held the position of Special Agent until he resigned and organized the Eastern Shore Trucking and Transportation Company, of which he was president up until the time of his death. He was well known throughout the entire Del-Mar-Va peninsula and he has host of friends who will mourn his loss. He was a member of Chesapeake Lodge, No. 147, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, and a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Several years ago he married Miss Jennie Cullen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cullen of this city. He is survived by his wife, and one daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Riggin, and four grand-children, Nickey, Billy, George, and Nancy Riggin. Funeral services were conducted from his late home in Salisbury on last Sunday afternoon by Rev. Lawrence, assisted by members of the Masonic fraternity who buried him with the ancient rites of the order. The pall-bearers were all Masons. Interment was made in the Crisfield cemetery.
