To this union five children were born, two sons and three daughters,; Emmett and Sherman died in infancy and Mrs. Ella Fisher died November 30, `9`8, leaving Mrs. Susie Cummings of Red Oak and Mrs. Inez Glassco in forest Lake, Minnesota. They moved to North Page, Iowa and took a homestead in 1857. When the Civil war broke out in 1862, Mr. Newsam enlisted for service in Co.
