Mr. Amerine, 79, received his name from the "Father of His Country," George Washington on whose birthday he was born. He was born in Ridge Township, Wyandot County, the son of Andrew and Mary "Barchar" Amerine, and had lived practically all of his life-time in Wyandot County. The couple were parents of 21 children. 17 of them preceded their father in death. Those living are Adam Amerine, Wyandot county; James Amerine, Seneca county; Mrs. Albert Turner, Wyandot county and Mrs. Everett Laney, of Carey. Mr. and Mrs. Amerine were the parents of one of the largest families of Wyandot County, Ohio. He was at one time a member of the school board of Crawford Township, Wyandot County, and the Church of the Brethen. He retired from farming several years ago.
