Description	:	The grim messenger of death again has invaded the community and this time claimed the life of George Barber, a long, time resident of North Bend. Mr. Barber had been seriously ill since last July and suffered intensely from multiple myeloma. He spent some time In the University hospital in Omaha after he was first stricken, and, after being cared for at home for some time he was again taken to the hospital last Sunday when his condition had become extremely grave. He spent some time In the University hospital in Omaha after he was first stricken, and, after being cared for at home for some time he was again taken to the hospital last Sunday when his condition had become extremely grave. He passed away at about six o'clock Wednesday evening. Funeral services conducted by Rev. J. D. Forsyth will be held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. George Washington Barber was born June 6, 1874, at Cassville, Wisconsin. He was the son of Isaac and Sarah V. Garner Barber. When a young man he came to North Bend. He was married September 14, 1904, to Sarah Irene Buroh of North Bend. Except for a few years when they lived near Glencoe the family has lived in this community. Mr. Barber worked as a laborer and his work was always well done. He was a very quiet and unassuming man but those who knew him recognized in him those qualities of character which mark an honorable man. Mr. Barber is survived by his wife and three children, Mrs. Marie Worden of Petersburg, Nebraska, Irvin and LaVerna at home. One son, George Jr., died at the age of eleven years, and two children died in infancy. Other surviving relatives are a sister Mrs. Addie Orendorff, one half sister, four half brothers, one step sister and two step brothers. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Worden (Marle Barber) of Petersburg have been here at the Barber home for several days
