Beverlin was born in Wayne county, Indiana, July 27, 1837 and died at his home in Skidmore, Missouri, Friday, November 6, 1908, aged 71 years, 3 months and 9 days. He was married October 18, 1853, to Miss Sarah Haynes, in Randolph county, Indiana, where they resided until the fall of '88 when they moved to Atchison county, Missouri, where he bought a farm near Dotham and lived there until December, 1891, when he moved to Skidmore and built the residence in which he has lived ever since. Beverlin was born in Wayne county, Indiana, July 27, 1837 and died at his home in Skidmore, Missouri, Friday, November 6, 1908, aged 71 years, 3 months and 9 days. He was married October 18, 1853, to Miss Sarah Haynes, in Randolph county, Indiana, where they resided until the fall of '88 when they moved to Atchison county, Missouri, where he bought a farm near Dotham and lived there until December, 1891, when he moved to Skidmore and built the residence in which he has lived ever since. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Beverlin, three boys and three girls, who with their mother survive him, this being the first death in the family. Mr. Beverlin has all his life been noted as an honest, upright and benevolent man, commanding the utmost respect and love of his family, relatives, and neighbors. He had been in poor health for some time, suffering a stroke of paralysis, yet he endured his afflictions patiently and uncomplainingly. Everything was done that could be to alleviate his pain and restore him, if possible, to health again. But human hands were too weak, his time had come and he must go. The funeral services were held in his residence, conducted by Rev. W. H. Welton assisted by Rev. E. L. Jeffers, and his remains were laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery. The pall bearers were his old friends and neighbors, Daniel Brown, R. G. Medsker, John Trapp, Henry Barrett, Theodore Gwin, and W. R. Linville. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community in this, their sad hour." ------------------------- From the Skidmore, Missouri New Era, December 3, 1908, page 1, column 3: "Geo. W. Beverlin Will The will of the late Geo. W. Beverlin was filed with Probate Judge Conn last week. The greater part of the property was left to the widow, Mrs. Sarah J. Beverlin. The property, except lots 3, 4, and 5 in block 1, is ordered sold and $4000 paid to the widow, and at her death this property is to be sold and proceeds divided between the children: Martitia Thorp, India Owens, Sarah Rohr, Jesse, Charles and Stephen Beverlin."
