He was discovered about 5:30 this morning by other occupants of the house which is located the second house east of the Clarke County Community Creamery. In the absence of the coroner, Dr. K. R. Brown, Sheriff Harold Burgus acted in the capacity and declared death due to natural causes. Dodd Sat. Aged Osceola Man was Found Dead In Chair In His Room; Born At Prairie Grove In 1858 Funeral services for George Dodd, 82, were held from the Osceola Foursquare church Saturday conducted by the Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Woods officiating. Mr. Dodd was found dead in his bedroom on Thursday, may 15th, death apparently occurring the evening before. George W. Dodd was born near prairie Grove, Clarke County, Iowa, July 22, 1858 and departed this life May 14, 1941, death due to heart failure. Mr. Dodd spent most of his life as a successful school teacher in Iowa with the exception of a few years which were spent as a grocery clerk. His wife preceded him in death about seven years ago. He leaves to mourn his departure, two sons, Phillip of Los Angeles, Calif., Arthur of Des Moines, Ia., and one brother, Charlie of Osceola, along with many friends who will miss him greatly. His age at death was 82 years, 9 months and 22 days. Burial was made beside his wife, in Fields cemetery at Prairie Grove, Ia.
