Description	:	George W. Graves, son of Homer J. and Almira Graeves, was born December 6, 1860, in Ward's Grove Township, Stockton, ILL. He was the youngest son of a family of ten, six boys and four girls, all of whom have preceded him in death except one sister, Mrs. Emily G. Sharp, Stockton, who will be 93 in September. His mother died when he was four years old, and the two youngest boys, John and George were reared by their father and older sister, Miss Julia Graves. His father lived to the ripe old age of 88. He received his education... Read More	George W. Graves, son of Homer J. and Almira Graeves, was born December 6, 1860, in Ward's Grove Township, Stockton, ILL. He was the youngest son of a family of ten, six boys and four girls, all of whom have preceded him in death except one sister, Mrs. Emily G. Sharp, Stockton, who will be 93 in September. His mother died when he was four years old, and the two youngest boys, John and George were reared by their father and older sister, Miss Julia Graves. His father lived to the ripe old age of 88. He received his education in the public schools in the vicinity where he was born, an attended Mt. Morris Academy, Mt. Morris, ILL. On December 3, 1891, he was united in marriage to Miss Flora M. Waldo at Stockton. After a year's residence there, they moved to Adams, Neb., where they have resided for fifty years. To this union were born two daughters, Mr.s Blanche Burrows and Miss Clara L. Graves, both of Adams. In December, 1941, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. For the past two years, Mr. Graves had been in failing health, and on July 17, 1943, he peacefully passed away. He is survived by his wife, one sister, Miss Emily Sharp, Stockton, ILL; two daughters, Blanche and Clara; three grandchildren, Roberta, Dorothy an George W. Burrows; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church at Adams Tuesday afternoon, July 20, with Rev. P.D. Cox in charge of the services. Burial in Highland Cemetery.
