Mr Hollis had been a constant sufferer of Bright's disease and had been in failing health for the past three years until death relieved him. George W. Hollis was born in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana. He came to Page County, Iowa, with his parents, Mr and Mrs Edward Hollis, in the year of 1854, when he was but two years old and spent the remainder of his life... Mr Hollis had been a constant sufferer of Bright's disease and had been in failing health for the past three years until death relieved him. George W. Hollis was born in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Indiana. He came to Page County, Iowa, with his parents, Mr and Mrs Edward Hollis, in the year of 1854, when he was but two years old and spent the remainder of his life on a farm in that county. He was born January 28, 1852, being 60 years, 10 months and 24 days old at the time of his death. The deceased was united in marriage to Tabitha Hunter February 23, 1873. To this union was born three sons and four daughters, Albert and Ora Hollis, Mrs Dollie Gray of North Grove, Mrs Nora Richards, Nodaway; Mrs Stella Coy of Clarinda; and Mrs Ethyl Shum, Avin, Illinois, survive him. One son, Chas died in 1892. The funeral services were held Tuesday, December 24, at the North Grove Cemetery. The deceased man was a brother-in-law of J. L. Neill of Villisca.
