Description	:	George William "Bill" Rydlund, 82, of Holdrege died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Bill was born on June 30, 1929 at Holdrege the sixth child born to George Albert and Evelyn (Nafe) Rydlund. Bill attended Funk school and attended Holdrege High School. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard from 1947 until 1949. On June 24, 1951 he was united in marriage to Lois Eugenia Olson at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. Read More	George William "Bill" Rydlund, 82, of Holdrege died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at Christian Homes Care Community in Holdrege. Bill was born on June 30, 1929 at Holdrege the sixth child born to George Albert and Evelyn (Nafe) Rydlund. Bill attended Funk school and attended Holdrege High School. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard from 1947 until 1949. On June 24, 1951 he was united in marriage to Lois Eugenia Olson at the First Presbyterian Church in Holdrege. Bill and Lois adopted and raised two children Kelly and Lisa. The family made their home in Holdrege where Bill worked for the Buick Dealership. He then partnered with Holly Hodge at the Holdrege Body Shop. In 1961 he partnered with Glenn Bienhoff to own and operate the Miracle Body Shop. He retired from the auto body business in the 1970s when he began his career at Beckton-Dickenson in Holdrege until his retirement in 1994. Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Holdrege. He enjoyed Husker football. He was also very meticulous about cutting his lawn and washed his car every Saturday. Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by sister in infancy, Georgia Rydlund, sisters and their husbands, Violet Bricker, Garnet Hedstrom, Marjorie Everett, Linnea Hunter; sister-in-law, Lucille Soneson; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Olson. Bill leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 60 years, Lois; children: Dr. Kelly Rydlund and Rika Bering of Portland, Oregon; Lisa Hunke and her husband, Duane of Holdrege; grandchildren; Emily Scism and her husband, C.J. of Clovis, New Mexico, Austin Schamp and Parker Schamp, both of Grand Island, Nebraska; great-grandchild; Peyton Scism of Clovis; sisters-in-law: Loretta Sturgis and her husband, Dale of Holdrege, Rogene Peterson and her husband, Paul of Bertrand, Nebraska, and Gwen (Olson) Harden; brother-in-law, Gordon Soneson of Holdrege and a host of relatives and and friends. Burial was in Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on July 7, 2011
