BUSBAY, 78 Funeral Services Were Held at Mt. Moriah Last Wednesday G. W. Busbay died Tuesday, October 31, at his home in Scotland County at the age of 78 years. Funeral services were held at Mt. Moriah last Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 conducted by Rev. Coughlin of Milton. Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery. He was born in Lewis County, Kentucky, September 15, 1855, and came to Missouri at the age of 19 years. He married Philena Hughes and they lived in South Dakota a short time, where she and their eldest son, Marquis, died of Mountain Fever. He, with his children, George, Carlisle, Virgil, and Irene returned to Missouri in 1890, where he spent the remainder of his life. On January 6, 1895, he was married to Martha Hughes and to this union one daughter was born, Ivan, wife of Henry Jansen of Cantril. He was a member of the M. P. Church at Mt. Moriah. Mrs. Busbay preceded him in death May 24, 1926. He was taken ill Saturday of last week. Dr. Myer of Cantril was summoned and everything that could be, was done for him, but he passed away Tuesday evening, October 31. He leaves 5 children, 7 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
