Description	:	The People's Defender Former Adams Countian Dead George W. Nixon, a well known resident of Fairfield, Nebraska, died at his home Tuesday of last week, his death resulting from cancer of the stomach. The deceased was seventy-two years of age and had been a resident of Adams County, Ohio, until 1886, when he moved to Clay County, Neb., where he has since resided. The deceased was seventy-two years of age and had been a resident of Adams County, Ohio, until 1886, when he moved to Clay County, Neb., where he has since resided. He was married April 10, 1856, to Ann Rebecca McFadden and to them were born nine children as follow: David Randolph Nixon, deceased; Amanda Kizer, Ella Jones, Lydia Teeters, Jennie Miley, deceased, Osa Moore, Valley Nixon, James W. Nixon, John E. Nixon. The living members of his family were at his bedside when he died except Mrs. Ella Jones, of Goodyear, Kansas. The funeral was held Thursday afternoon, the religious services being conducted by Rev. Williams, pastor of the Christian Church at Fairfield. The funeral was in charge of the Odd Fellows of which order the deceased was a member. Interment was made in the Fairfield Cemetery. The deceased was a brother of David Nixon, of Peebles, and for many years while a resident of Adams County served as a Justice of the Peace of Meigs township.
