He was born in Starke, Florida on March 18, 1937 to the late Andrew Wilkerson and Edith Padgett Wilkerson. George was a carpenter for many years and attended Highland First Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who knew him as "Pops." He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Annie Dealva Wilkerson; son, Joseph Andrew Wilkerson; brothers, Wesley Wilkerson, Randall Wilkerson, and John Berry Wilkerson. He is survived by his children, George William Wilkerson, Jr. of CA, David Allen Wilkerson, Michael Clifford (Tina) Wilkerson, Stephen Eugene Wilkerson, Raymond Louis Wilkerson, and Valerie Ann Wilkerson all of Lawtey, FL, and Teresa Wilkerson (Don) Jacobs of St. Petersburg, FL; his brother, James Wilkerson of Lawtey, FL; and his 15 grandchildren, Brandi, David Allen, Jr., Dillion, Nichole, V.J., Sierra, Brian, Josh, Leann, Jennifer, Tiffany, Amber, Victoria, Emily, and Raymond, Jr. and 7 great grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Long Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 16, 2012 from 10 am-12 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family to assist with expenses. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Archie Tanner Funeral Services, Starke, FL.
