Description	:	Georgean Evelyn Koenig was born June 3, 1920 to Henry and Clara (Poesch) Koenig, on a farm in Winneshiek County, near Castalia, Iowa. She was baptised at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia. She graduated from Postville High School in 1937. On November 9, 1940 she married Lawrence Stadtmiller at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage at Castalia. They had two sons, Donald and Gene. She was baptised at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Castalia. She graduated from Postville High School in 1937. On November 9, 1940 she married Lawrence Stadtmiller at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage at Castalia. They had two sons, Donald and Gene. The couple farmed together on the Stadtmiller family farm near Luana until 1964, when they moved to Postville. She became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon on June 5, 2007. Upon moving to Postville, Georgean worked as a cook at the V & J Coffee Shop and later at the Postville Community Hospital, retiring in 1985. Georgean was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville. She died Friday, July 6, 2007 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon. Funeral services were held Monday, July 9, 2007, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Postville, with the Reverend Gary Catterson officiating. The Schutte Funeral and Cremation Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, a brother-in-law, Aldo Larson, and one niece and one nephew. She was survived by her two sons, three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a sister, one niece, two nephews, several cousins and many friends.
