Tyson Davis, 79, Burlingame, Kansas, went home to be with The Lord Monday, February 2, 2009, at a Topeka Hospital. She was born February 22, 1929, at Burlingame, the daughter of Granville and Ethel McMurdo Griffin. She attended the Burlingame and Pomona schools. Georgia was a homemaker, and a caregiver and had worked at the Santa Fe Trail Nursing Center at Burlingame. She attended Grace Assembly Church at Burlingame, where she was song leader, and out of her love for children, taught Pre-School Sunday School for 38 years. She did volunteer gospel singing at area nursing homes for many years. She also volunteered as a "Grandma" at the Burlingame Grade School. She was a member of the MI Group of Singers, and the Fairplain Grange. In addition to her great love for her family, was her love of her animals and dolls. She married James Willis Tyson in 1947. He died in 1975. She also was preceded in death by two grandsons, Todd Allen Mundy and Troy Allen Tyson, and a brother Gary Griffin who died in infancy. Georgia married Charles Davis in 1977. He survives at the home. Other survivors include two daughters, Helen (Calvin) Mundy, and Ilene Tyson Reid, both of Burlingame; three sons, James (Alice) Tyson, Americus, Randy Tyson, Osage City, and Steven (Amy) Tyson, Burlingame; two step-daughters, Cindy McAdoo, Muskogee, OK, and Nancy Rose, Delia, KS, a step son, Michel Davis, Topeka; six sisters, Marie, Doris, Lola, Iva Jean, Lelia, and Patsy; two brothers, Granville Jr. and David Griffin; 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2009, at Grace Assembly Church, Burlingame. Burial will be in Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame, Kansas. Georgia will lie in state from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, where family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Assembly Church or the Burlingame First Responders, and sent c/o the funeral home, P.O.
