Description	:	Published in the Rochester(IN) Sentinel, Saturday, November 7, 1903 Mrs. Daniel McDONALD, of Plymouth, came this morning and attended the Georgia HOLMAN funeral. The funeral services for the late Miss Georgia HOLMAN, at the family residence this morning, was the most largely attended and touching Rochester has had for years. The floral offerings were banked all about the casket in the hall where the remains lay. There were great wreaths, pillows and emblematic pieces of carnations, chrysanthemums, and fall roses, while elaborate bouquets of American Beauties and other rare flowers gave the room the effect of a bower of life... The funeral services for the late Miss Georgia HOLMAN, at the family residence this morning, was the most largely attended and touching Rochester has had for years. The floral offerings were banked all about the casket in the hall where the remains lay. There were great wreaths, pillows and emblematic pieces of carnations, chrysanthemums, and fall roses, while elaborate bouquets of American Beauties and other rare flowers gave the room the effect of a bower of life and beauty. Among the offerings were elaborate effects from the faculty, her class and room mate, of Forest Grove Seminary, at St. Louis; the Baptist Young Peoples Union; Baptist Sunday school; Euterpean Fraternity; Nokoma club; University Extension Association; Rochester Normal University faculty; the members of the Fulton county bar, and many from relatives and friends of this city. And the funeral service was in full harmony with the angelic life in honor of which it was given. A special choir composed of Misses Mary STANTON and Effie SHAFER, Mesdames Guy ALSPACH and Arthur METZLER, Mr. Frank BRYANT and Prof. MARDOT, with Mrs. Lizzie STERNER at the piano, rendered most sweetly touching music. Rev. DeVOE read an appropriate scripture lesson, Rev. SWITZER gave a fervent prayer, and Rev. CONLEY closed with a eulogy and an exhortation which touched every heart present and yet buoyed all up with the comfort that Georgia's life was one of so much blessedness in her home and so much joy and happiness to her wide circle of friends. And then Profs. POWERS and BANTA, her former instructors, and Messrs. C. K. BITTERS, Daniel AGNEW, Henry A. BARNHART and George V. DAWSON as pall bearers and a large cortège escorting, conveyed the body to Odd Fellows cemetery and lowered it in a vault, the walls of which were profusely hung with flowers. Rev. SWITZER said a brief farewell, Rev. CONLEY implored comfort from on high for the living, and the beautiful life of Georgia Holman was forever and ever only a sacred memory. Georgiana Ely,- daughter of George W. and Louise B. Holman, was born Jan. 23, 1884, in the present family home on South Main street. Rochester. Ind., and surrendered her physical life unto the demand of nature, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Spohn, 4480 McPherson avenue, St. Louis, Mo., in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1903, aged. 19 years, 9 months and 12 days. Miss Georgia was educated in the Rochester schools, was a member of the High School class but did not graduate, rather preferring to take up other lines of work more in harmony with her life and consequently attended the Rochester Normal University, from which institution she graduated with distinguished honors. After a season of studious application to her lessons, the future appeared to open even brighter to her and the fond parents, desirous of granting her every opportunity for advancement n the study of her life's pleasure- music, provided her a place in Park University, a school for young ladies, in St. Louis, and was under the tutorship of Prof. Kroeger, one of the most noted composers and teachers of music known in the present day. While attending this school she took sick and her case became alarming. Her father was sent for and he arrived at her bedside just one week after her sickness commenced. Then it was the case was definitely diagnosed as typhoid......... She leaves father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Lucile Leonard and Miss Grace and a brother Hugh B., beside a number of relatives and a host of acquaintances and friends. The funeral will occur at the residence tomorrow morning, at 10:00 o'clock. Rev. G. L. Conley delivering the oration, and assisted by Rev. W. F. Switzer.
